CONNECTING COMMUNITY THROUGH ART

Now in its eighth year, ‘Fairholme Open Art Prize – FACETS’, presents a carefully selected and thoughtfully curated presentation by our Curatorial Team that invites a shared conversation, artistic expression, and audience engagement; and it is this, the celebration of Art, Education and Community that have become the focus of this exhibition.

This year we welcome to the Artists in Conversation panel -


  • Lyn Diefenbach | Member of the International Guild of Realism, Lyn holds Master Pastellist status with the Pastel Society of Australia, Eminent Pastellist status in the International Association of Pastel Societies and is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America.


  • Dr Rhi Johnson | Senior Lecturer (Creative Arts) at the University of Southern Queensland


  • Christine Porter | A full time Professional Artist, Printmaker, Teacher and Writer


  • Dr Elizabeth Shaw | Program Director Graduate Certificate and Master of Visual Arts Queensland College of Art, Griffith University.

Our 2024 Guest Judge is Dr Elizabeth Shaw, Senior Lecturer and Program Director for the Graduate Certificate and Master of Visual Arts at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University.

Our 2024 Guest Portrait Sitter is Councillor Carol Taylor. Recently re-elected to Toowoomba Regional Council for her firth term, Cr Taylor's esteemed Local Government career has spanned more than 24-years, including serving as Mayor of the former Cambooya Shire Council.


The artists capturing Cr Carol Taylor's exceptional presence include -
